Maya is a very outgoing and personable girl who is currently experiencing foster care and placement away from her siblings. She is presently living with a foster family, though this has not always been the case. Maya has been through past placements, including time in a group home, before finding her current foster home. Despite these challenges, Maya continues to try to make the best of her situation.

Maya has recently developed a strong interest in makeup and is eager to learn more about both makeup and hair. For Christmas, she would like a vanity for her room that she can use for doing her makeup and hair, as well as for homework. This newfound passion has boosted Maya's confidence, and it’s wonderful to see her begin to shine as she starts high school.
