She has had to grow up quickly, taking on the role of caregiver for her sister. Now, they live with their cousin, with whom they have a strong bond. Nevayah feels a sense of relief and a weight lifted off her shoulders, knowing that she and her sister are safe.
Nevayah has moved into a smaller bedroom and has requested a fold-up space-saving queen-size bed for Christmas. This bed will help her maximize the space in her room. She is continuing with extended foster care and relies on her cousin for housing, but she cannot afford a bed and mattress on her own while she attends school to earn her GED. Nevayah would be overjoyed to get this bed that she can fold up and make some space in her room.
