This is Jem's first experience in foster care, and despite everything he’s been through, he continues to shine. He’s incredibly smart and has a natural curiosity that makes him stand out. Before coming into care, video games were his way of mentally escaping tough moments, giving him a sense of comfort and control. Now, with support and stability, he’s beginning to rebuild and discover healthier ways to cope while still enjoying the things he loves

Jem is an incredibly talented young artist with a passion for bringing his favorite video-game characters to life on paper. His bright, bold drawings have earned him multiple school awards, but more importantly, art has become his safe space. When he feels sad, overwhelmed, or isolated drawing helps him refocus, cope, and express himself in a positive, creative way. Jem is requesting a Watercolor and oil pastel set to encourage him to keep creating and healing through his art.
