Kenia has faced numerous challenges in her life and experienced foster care. She deeply cares about her family and roots, often expressing how much she misses her home country of El Salvador and the family she left behind. Kenia has a strong bond with her little sister, whom she helped raise, and she remains a steadfast support for her sister while navigating the foster care system. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, Kenia continues to set goals for her future and aspires to become a lawyer so she can advocate for children who have experienced similar circumstances. To cope with the various challenges she faces, Kenia enjoys playing softball and engaging in art activities.

Kenia arrived at her foster home with very little clothing, and her foster mom shared that she needs a new pair of shoes. Despite facing challenges that no young person should have to shoulder, Kenia shows extraordinary strength and generosity. She has spent years caring for her younger sister with unwavering love, always putting others’ needs before her own. Kenia rarely asks for anything. She focuses on making sure the people around her are supported, even when she goes without. A new pair of Vans would be a meaningful way to remind Kenia that her needs matter too.
