San Diego Youth ServicesDinah is a resilient young woman who has overcome many obstacles in her life. She is currently in therapy to support her continued healing and personal growth. Dinah and her siblings entered the foster care system at a young age and were unfortunately separated. Despite everything she has been through, Dinah always wears a smile and embraces life with positivity. She finds joy in her daily life through the hobbies she loves. Now that Dinah is an adult, she lives in an extended foster care apartment and is able to visit her siblings on weekends. She holds them close to her heart and describes them as her best friends.
For Dinah, staying active isn’t just about fitness—it’s about mental clarity, emotional balance, and feeling strong every day. Having a walking treadmill in her apartment would allow her to exercise anytime, without worrying about gym hours, weather, or safety. She had one in her previous housing placement, which helped her stay consistent with workouts, relieve stress, boost her mood, and feel confident, but she couldn’t take it with her when she moved. Having a treadmill again would provide stability, structure, and a reliable outlet for self-care, helping her stay committed to her fitness goals and feel grounded in her new space.
