Joseph is a charismatic, altruistic, and compassionate soul. He is self-driven, outgoing, and has a great sense of humor. Joseph enjoys photography, volunteering at church and community, hanging with his buddy, and playing with his dog. He is on the A/B Honor Roll at school and has perfect attendance. He participates in the TCC program and has earned 4 credits towards college. Joseph has enjoyed participating in plays, football, and the after-school program. When he older, Joseph wants to be an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He says that he will be the to "bankroll" the business and ensure that it is run properly. Joseph voluntarily helps others and has been a very strong motivator to his siblings.

Having a bike would give Joseph the freedom to move about, explore his surroundings, independently get from school to home and participate freely in after-school programs. Joseph shared the same thoughts as his brother. He said that "we haven't had gifts for Christmas in a long time, so it's okay, Mom". The humility that he shows on a daily basis is overwhelming and a lesson for all. It is also what makes this request so meaningful. Joseph thinks of others always before himself. If he has anything, he is willing to share or give all to someone else. The bike would definitely be a boost for self-confidence and independence. Recently, Joseph made a statement to his mother saying "I'm more mature now, Mom. You don't have to worry about me getting it done." Having his own way of getting around would definitely aide in continued growth and maturity. Though it has been over 7 years that Joseph has received gifts during this time, he is more concerned with how he can be of greater help within the household, a bike would greatly help for this purpose.
