Ta'laiya has a young mother, who has been in and out of treatment for substance abuse issues. Ta'laiya has experienced homelessness and has experienced few luxuries, such as having toys or other play items that could enhance her development and foster her curiosity.
Ta'laiya's biological mother recently regained custody of Ta'laiya and she has limited funds to buy toys or books for her. Ta'laiya loves Gabby's Dollhouse and has begun to show an interest in books. The best of both worlds!
