San Diego Youth ServicesAnthony is a resilient young man who is working to overcome past trauma. He entered care at a young age and was placed in a non-relative home. Although he struggles internally with his mental health, he approaches life with strength and positivity. He is rarely seen without a smile on his face and often spends time laughing and enjoying life. His strongest support system includes his two sisters and his best friend—people he says he couldn't imagine living without. In his free time, Anthony enjoys spending time outdoors with his friend, participating in various activities that bring him joy and peace.
After long, exhausting days juggling two jobs, Anthony looks forward to one of the few things that helps him unwind—playing video games with his friends. Gaming isn’t just a hobby for him; it’s his way of staying connected to the people who matter most. When life feels heavy, these gaming sessions give him a break from constantly thinking about work, housing, and his future. It’s a space where he can laugh, relax, and just be himself. A new gaming controller for Christmas would mean the world to Anthony. His current one is worn out, and having a reliable controller would allow him to fully enjoy those meaningful moments online with his friends. Video games are his mental health outlet—a way to de-stress, recharge, and maintain strong social connections even during an overwhelming season of life. This gift would not only bring joy but also support Anthony’s emotional well-being as he continues working hard toward his goals.
