Children's InstituteManijah has endured a very difficult journey. He has been in and out of foster care multiple times due to his parents’ involvement in a domestic violence situation. For nearly two years, he experienced homelessness before finally securing stable housing. Even now, Manijah continues to struggle deeply with his mental health. His behaviors have become so severe that he requires a team of mental health providers on call to help manage his depression. Recently, two DCFS cases were opened and closed because Manijah and his siblings refused to attend school consistently. Despite these challenges, his mother is working tirelessly to support him and keep the family together. With the help of his service providers, there is hope that Manijah can begin to stabilize, improve his mental health, and re-engage with school. A thoughtful gift or gesture of care would remind him that he is not alone and that brighter days are possible.
Manijah has been facing challenges at home, and his mother cannot afford to buy him new shoes. This Christmas, a fresh pair of shoes would mean so much to him. The gift would not only provide comfort and style but also help Manijah feel supported and confident. Walking out of the house in new shoes would boost his self-esteem, improve his mental health, and allow him to feel proud of his appearance. Looking fly on Christmas Day would be a joyful reminder that he is cared for and deserving of love and encouragement
