The National Youth Advocate ProgramNelle is bright, caring, and creative. She entered foster care due to family challenges with substance abuse and has faced real trauma at a young age. She is in therapy and connected to a mentorship program and is growing in ways her foster team has noticed and celebrated.
After school, Nelle enjoys relaxing with her sister by watching her favorite TV show. She is also taking important steps in her personal growth and processing her trauma through therapy. Soon, she will be paired with a mentor for additional support. To help her achieve her academic goals and provide a creative outlet, Nelle wishes for an iPad. This device would assist her in staying organized with her schoolwork and allow her to engage in positive hobbies during her downtime. Unfortunately, since Nelle is in foster care, her current foster home is unable to purchase the iPad. We want to ensure that this barrier does not hinder Nelle from reaching her many goals!
