Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption AssociationZahmir is a bright and energetic child in foster care with his baby brother. He loves riding his balance bike, making his brother laugh with his silly dances, and exploring his favorite topics—space, cars, and the weather. Zahmir is incredibly smart, proudly spelling his name out loud and identifying all the letters. With the help of ABA and play therapy, he’s working hard to overcome challenges related to autism and developmental delays, growing and learning more each day.
Zahmir would benefit greatly from a learning video game system similar to a Wii because it would combine his love of movement and learning in a fun, interactive way. With his autism and developmental delays, he learns best through hands-on, engaging activities that encourage focus, coordination, and following directions. A motion-based system would help him practice motor skills, balance, and turn-taking while also supporting his cognitive growth through educational games. Most importantly, it would give Zahmir joyful, shared experiences with his brother and caregivers—helping him learn, connect, and build confidence through play.
