Spinning sensory chair for Zahmir who seeks movement for balance
Zahmir, 3 years old, MO |

Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption AssociationZahmir is a bright and energetic child in foster care with his baby brother. He loves riding his balance bike, making his brother laugh with his silly dances, and exploring his favorite topics—space, cars, and the weather. Zahmir is incredibly smart, proudly spelling his name out loud and identifying all the letters. With the help of ABA and play therapy, he’s working hard to overcome challenges related to autism and developmental delays, growing and learning more each day.
Zahmir would benefit greatly from a sensory spinning chair because it would provide a safe and calming way for him to meet his sensory needs. As a child with autism and developmental delays, he often seeks movement to help his body feel balanced and regulated. The gentle spinning motion would help him calm his mind, improve focus, and reduce sensory overload. It would also support his motor development and coordination while giving him a fun, comforting tool he can use to feel secure and in control of his body throughout the day.
