An iPad for Gabe who struggles to meet his milestones
Gabe, 2 years old, NJ |

EmbrellaGabe has faced significant challenges from the very beginning of his life, spending his earliest months without the stability every child deserves. He entered foster care and the home of his current caregiver as a newborn and required extensive nurturing and medical support early on. Despite a difficult start, he has grown into a happy, loving, and thriving boy who is deeply bonded and well cared for. Gabe does experience sensory-related challenges and will benefit from continued therapeutic support to help him reach his fullest potential. With appropriate resources, he is expected to continue making strong developmental progress in a safe, nurturing home.
Gabe struggles with transitions, making everyday moments like leaving the house or getting into his car seat challenging and, at times, unsafe. He does not yet understand the need to move quickly or follow directions, which can create serious safety concerns. An iPad would provide a calming and engaging tool to gently redirect his attention and help make these transitions safer and less stressful. Gabe has global developmental delays, and while his speech is improving, difficulty communicating often leads to frustration and emotional outbursts. We are working to build his self-regulation skills so he can better participate in daily routines and interact with his environment. The support in providing an iPad would make a meaningful difference in Gabe’s safety, comfort, and daily progress.
