Children's Institute

Candace is a young girl diagnosed as non-verbal, autistic, and developmentally delayed. In her short life, she has already endured significant challenges, including time in foster care due to neglect and exposure to domestic violence. After being reunited with her mother, Candace faced homelessness until just two months ago. Now, for the first time, Candace has started school—and she is thriving. She is learning how to interact with other children and adults, gaining new skills, and experiencing the joy of stability and growth. Candace’s journey reflects incredible resilience, and with continued support, she has the opportunity to flourish in a safe and nurturing environment.

Candace would be thrilled to receive Inside Out plushies. As a non-verbal child, these toys would provide her with a creative and comforting way to express her emotions, allowing her to show her teachers or mother how she feels in the moment. The plushies would help her regulate her emotions, support her communication, and bring her joy. This gift would also alleviate some of the financial burden on her mother, making it both a fun and meaningful addition to Candace’s life.
