Diego, who has autism-related challenges sometimes, has trouble controlling his emotions, leading to tears or hitting due to sensory sensitivities. His family is committed to supporting him and is learning how to best care for him despite their low income. Diego loves hugs, puzzles, stacking toys, playground trips, and his favorite fruits. With continued support, they are hopeful for a brighter future together.

Diego is an incredible young man who receives therapy for his autism. He is loving and caring, yet sometimes struggles to express his needs and feelings due to challenges with communication. Through therapy, he is learning valuable skills for socializing with the people who interact with him daily, and this progress has made a significant difference in his life. However, Diego still faces difficulties; he has episodes where he bangs his head against walls and objects in moments of distress. To help protect him from serious injury, both his therapist and his Behavior Analyst recommended a safety helmet designed for children with disabilities. Unfortunately, Diego's family has encountered a barrier. They attempted to obtain the helmet through their insurance, only to find it classified as an out-of-pocket expense. With a very low family income, they are unable to afford this crucial protective gear. Diego deserves the opportunity to thrive and feel safe, and this helmet could make a profound impact on his well-being.
