Children, Youth and Families DepartmentSyruss has been in foster care for several years and has experienced multiple placements before aging out of the system. Despite this transition, he continues to receive support from the state to help him adjust to independent living. Recently, Syruss graduated from high school and began an internship. He performed so well that the business offered him full-time employment. Now, Syruss is eager to live on his own and has secured a place to do so. Although he has faced many challenges in his life, he works hard not to let them affect him negatively. Syruss is also interested in learning a trade, such as welding or mechanics.
Syruss doesn’t get to go out very often, as he works hard and doesn’t have a car. He tries to stay close to home, and when he does have the chance to dine out, he likes to visit one of the nearest restaurants, Denny's. At Denny's, Syruss enjoys ordering burgers and appetizers, making it a treat whenever he can eat outside.
