Lay was neglected by both of her parents. She was placed with her grandmother at the age of 11. She is doing well in school; there have been some struggles, but she works through them. She is participating in basketball and track. She is interested in learning how to play golf. She enjoys arts and crafts. She is in the choir at church and enjoys singing.

Lay is requesting a lock for her bike because she wants to ride it to school and is concerned about leaving it unlocked. She also hopes to use it for commuting to work one day. She believes that this heavy-duty lock is the best option to prevent it from being cut off.
