Steven has experienced significant trauma, and he is still working to process those experiences with the support of mental-health services. Even with these challenges, Steven’s heart is one of his strongest qualities. He cares deeply for his sister and half-sister, whom he is separated from. Steven also has a deep love for his family members who live in another country, including his mother and brother. Family means everything to him. Steven continues to show strength as he works through his healing journey, and he deserves support, understanding, and opportunities that help him keep moving forward.

Since his father was detained by ICE this past weekend, Steven has been having an especially hard time engaging in everyday activities. His caregiver has shared that he has been withdrawn and struggling to find moments of relief during this sudden and painful separation. She came across the X9 Retro Handheld Game Console and believes it could provide Steven with a much-needed distraction, something comforting that allows him brief moments of escape, joy, and normalcy as he processes everything he’s going through.
