Lay was neglected by both of her parents. She was placed with her grandmother at the age of 11. She is doing well in school; there have been some struggles, but she works through them. She is participating in basketball and track. She is interested in learning how to play golf. She enjoys arts and crafts. She is in the choir at church and enjoys singing.

Lay is requesting a cover for her electric bike. She wants to keep it protected from the weather when she rides it back and forth to school. Also, when she is old enough to work, she plans on that being her transportation and wants the bike to last a long time.
