Children, Youth and Families DepartmentSyruss was in foster care for several years and has experienced multiple placements before aging out of the system. Despite this transition, he continues to receive support from the state to help him adjust to independent living. Syruss graduated from high school and began an internship. He performed so well that the business offered him full-time employment. Now, Syruss is eager to live on his own and has secured a place to do so. Although he has faced many challenges in his life, he works hard not to let them affect him negatively. Syruss is also interested in learning a trade, such as welding or mechanics.
Syruss is gradually adapting to living on his own and is embracing his journey toward independence. He wishes for a Swiffer to help keep his apartment tidy, showing his commitment to maintaining a clean space. As he navigates this transition into adulthood with limited support, he is learning the importance of responsibility. Syruss is determined to create an environment that he can be proud of.
