A Nintendo Switch for Alanna to decompress
Alanna, 19 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
Strength Based Community Change (SBCC)Alanna is a kind young mother with a daughter. The father is not involved in their lives, so she is the sole provider. Fortunately, her grandmother has offered her a room to stay in. Alanna is still in high school and is working hard to graduate soon. She is a nice girl with big goals and ambitions. After graduating, she plans to attend college to become a registered nurse (RN).
As the sole provider for her daughter and a full-time high school student, Alanna’s life is centered entirely on the needs of others. Between her studies and the physical demands of parenting, she rarely has a moment for herself. A Nintendo Switch would provide her with a portable, accessible way to decompress at the end of a long day. For a young woman who aged out of foster care and is now working toward a career in nursing, having a small way to 'unplug' and recharge is essential for preventing burnout and maintaining the resilience she needs to reach her goals.
