Tioga County Human Services - Foster CareMaya is currently participating in a program to improve her mental health. She and her brother came into care due to significant concerns about their home conditions and their parents' failure to address the children's mental health needs. Maya is now residing in a placement where she can focus on her mental well-being. While in care, she is allowed only a limited number of items, including safe clothing that cannot be used to harm herself as she works on her recovery. Maya enjoys perfume, drawing, and staying active.
Maya is currently staying in a residential facility, and she has expressed that the mattresses there are quite uncomfortable. To improve her sleeping situation, she would like to have a mattress topper to place on her bed for added comfort. As she prepares to transition to a step-down program, Maya hopes to be able to take the mattress topper with her wherever her next placement may be.
