Maya is a very outgoing and personable girl who is currently experiencing foster care and placement away from her siblings. She is presently living with a foster family, though this has not always been the case. Maya has been through past placements, including time in a group home, before finding her current foster home. Despite these challenges, Maya continues to try to make the best of her situation.

Maya has recently started horse therapy and is thoroughly enjoying her time interacting with the horses on the farm. As she approaches her birthday, she has expressed a desire for a pair of cowboy boots to wear while working at the farm. However, finding the right fit can be challenging without trying them on first. To make her birthday special, she would love to go to Boot Barn so she can select the perfect pair of boots.
