Josh was taken from his mother due to issues with supervision and unsafe living conditions. He and his brother were briefly reunited with her, but they were removed again after she was arrested for abuse and neglect. He and his brother have been placed in three different pre-adoptive homes, but those placements unfortunately failed. Now an adult, Josh lives on his own and is working to balance work, school, and having fun. He enjoys basketball and spending time with friends.

Josh's basketball shoes are old and have holes in them, making it difficult for him to enjoy the game he loves. He’s currently facing tough times and doesn’t have a job to afford new clothes and shoes. Basketball has always been his escape, helping him relieve stress. However, lately, he hasn't been able to play because his basketball was stolen, and his worn-out shoes are holding him back.
