Kyle's journey in foster care began at the age of 14 when his aunt was no longer able to care for him, and his parents have never been a part of his life. He spent his teenage years in a group home until he turned 18. Despite the obstacles he has faced, Kyle remains hopeful and optimistic about his future. When he’s not studying, he stays active by playing basketball, football, and boxing. He treasures the connections he has with friends, often catching up through FaceTime, and finds joy in unwinding with video games. Kyle's positive attitude and zest for life are truly inspiring.

Next month, Kyle will be celebrating his birthday, and he's excited to plan an outing with his friends at Dave & Buster's. Currently in extended foster care, he receives a small monthly stipend while attending college, where he is deeply committed to his studies. This dedication leads him to take extra classes each semester, making school his top priority and limiting his ability to work. With his birthday approaching, Kyle is hoping to get a new pair of shoes. His previous sneakers have seen better days, sporting a hole that has left him with only slides to wear. A new pair of shoes would not only be a stylish addition for his birthday outing but would also give him the chance to get back on the basketball court, his favorite sport.
