Pull Ups for Candace to be comfortable
Candace, 8 years old, CA | 19 DAYS WAITING
Wish submitted by:
Children's InstituteCandace is a young girl diagnosed as non-verbal, autistic, and developmentally delayed. In her short life, she has already endured significant challenges, including time in foster care due to neglect and exposure to domestic violence. After being reunited with her mother, Candace faced homelessness until just two months ago. Now, for the first time, Candace has started school—and she is thriving. She is learning how to interact with other children and adults, gaining new skills, and experiencing the joy of stability and growth. Candace’s journey reflects incredible resilience, and with continued support, she has the opportunity to flourish in a safe and nurturing environment.
Candace is developmentally disabled and is not yet toilet trained. Her mother is actively working with her, but progress has been challenging. As a result, Candace goes through pull-ups very quickly, both at home and at school. This creates a significant financial strain on the family, as pull-ups are a necessary daily expense. Providing pull-ups through this wish request would help ensure that Candace’s hygiene needs are met, reduce the risk of skin irritation and rashes, and offer meaningful financial relief to her mother during this ongoing caregiving process.
