Growing up with an abusive, addicted mother and constantly moving between her mother’s abusive relationships, Nicki was forced to take on responsibilities far beyond her years. After an eviction at age 14, she left home and has been on her own ever since. Throughout these challenges, art became her emotional outlet, allowing her to express feelings she could never share with the adults around her. Today, Nicki continues to use art as a therapeutic tool and hopes to pursue a career in the field, telling her story and inspiring others through her work.

Nicki is wishing for an iPad to aid her studies and projects at school. As an art student, she has a lot of planning and creativity involved in her work. This gift would help her unleash her full potential and make the creative process much more accessible. With an iPad, she could easily sketch, design, and organize her ideas in one place.
