Strength Based Community Change (SBCC)Faith is a foster youth who is working toward becoming an independent young adult. She is making strong efforts to secure employment, get involved in her community, and build meaningful connections. Faith is bright and, while naturally shy, has recently begun stepping out of her comfort zone and forming new friendships at her college. In the past, she faced challenges with social connections and decision-making, but she is now making positive choices that are guiding her toward a more stable and independent future.
Faith struggles with severe asthma, which makes getting around difficult. Along with her asthma, she also experiences fatigue and shortness of breath, making long distances especially challenging. An electric scooter would greatly help her by reducing physical strain and allowing her to participate more actively in her community while managing her health. Having a scooter would make it easier for Faith to travel from home to school, access her community, and look for job opportunities. This support would significantly enhance her independence and help her handle daily responsibilities more safely and confidently, particularly as she is currently job hunting. She believes that an electric scooter would be a valuable asset, especially by spring break, when she plans to focus on job interviews. This assistance would mean a lot to her as she works toward becoming a self-sufficient young adult.
