While in extended foster care, he has worked hard to develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed on his own. With the support of his sister and mentors, Dominick has grown significantly in his confidence and mental health, and he continues to push himself toward his goals. Dominick currently works at Walmart alongside his sister, where he supports the produce and grocery departments by organizing, stocking, and maintaining displays. Although the work can be fast-paced and demanding, he takes pride in being part of a team and showing up consistently. His strong work ethic and reliability have helped him maintain stability as he continues planning his next steps. Dominick is passionate about becoming a professional barber and one day hopes to open his own barbershop. He understands that barbering is more than just a skill—it’s about building trust, connection, and community. He is currently pursuing this path and is excited about creating a career where he can express his creativity and connect with others. Outside of work, Dominick enjoys staying active by working out daily, playing video games, cooking, and spending time with friends, his girlfriend, and his family. He also has an interest in remodeling and construction, and hopes to continue growing those skills as well. Now that Dominick finally has a space of his own, he is looking forward to experiencing something many young adults take for granted, which includes having a safe, comfortable place to relax and enjoy his hobbies. In his free time, he enjoys video games, working out, cooking, and spending time with loved ones. Receiving a desktop computer would give Dominick the opportunity to fully enjoy his new home, decompress after work, and engage in hobbies that support his mental well-being. More than that, it represents a sense of normalcy and stability after a period of uncertainty, something he has worked incredibly hard to achieve.
