Weighted blanket for Jordan who feels anxious in his new foster home

Jordan, 15 years old, FL

Camelot Community Care

Jordan is one of the most exceptionally brave and caring individuals you will meet. He and his younger sister were removed from their biological parents due to substance abuse only to experience horrific physical abuse, isolation, and starvation from their adoptive parents. Despite being failed by the very system meant to protect him Jordan is determined to create a good life for himself, and continue to protect his younger sister. In his new placement Jordan is eager to have a fresh start and make friends for the first time in his life. Jordan wants to play sports, watch movies, swim in a pool and enjoy being a kid for the first time in his life.

Jordan has recently been placed in a new foster home with other children, but this change is overwhelming for him. Having had little experience socializing with others, he feels anxious and struggles to sleep. The nights are especially tough; he feels exposed and vulnerable among new faces. His sister has a weighted blanket that brings her comfort, and Jordan wishes he could have one too, hoping it would help him feel secure and less alone during these challenging times.
