Day is a fighter and a resilient young man who hopes to make something of himself one day. He is a survivor of domestic violence and is currently in foster care. Despite having a learning disability, he is doing everything he can to maintain his grades in school. One of the hardest challenges he has faced is the separation from his younger sister. The two of them were very close, but they had to be separated in order to find appropriate placements. Despite all the difficulties he has endured, Day strives to keep a positive attitude. He aspires to attend college and study engineering. He truly believes that, in the future, he will look back and see that everything he has gone through was necessary for him to achieve his destiny.

Day is an outstanding young man determined to be successful. He rejects the notion that he must be a product of his environment. One of his favorite pastimes is walking past the mall, where he enjoys stopping in department stores to smell different colognes. This activity helps him relax when he feels anxious and allows him to imagine what he will smell like as a grown man. Day dreams of the day when he can walk into a store and purchase the cologne of his choice. For him, that would be a dream come true.
