A zipper binder for Mav whose grandma has trouble providing the extras
Mav S, 10 years old, KS

SparkWheelMav is an inspiring success story! Despite having no daycare or preschool experience, he spent many days in the focus room throughout 2nd grade. Once he learned how to manage a schedule, follow guidelines and boundaries, self-regulate, and show up consistently, he began to thrive! Now, he actively seeks out ways to help others, attends group sessions most days, and is a good friend to everyone. Occasionally, he may have a small breakdown when life feels overwhelming, but he is able to handle it and move on without letting it hold him back. Mav is always looking for ways to improve and is willing to admit when he is wrong.
Mav has learned to love school and takes pride in doing well in all areas. He feels more confident when he has the tools he needs to succeed; when he lacks those tools, he tends to focus on that instead of what he is supposed to be working on. Although purchasing a new binder will be a financial challenge for his family—since his grandmother is raising him, his sister, and three cousins—it would mean the world to him. Having a new binder would help him feel connected to something bigger and prepare him to take that big first step into a new beginning.
