A zipper binder for Max to feel included at school
Max, 10 years old, KS

SparkWheelMax marches to the beat of his own drum and isn't afraid to be different. He thinks outside the box, asks unusual or bizarre questions, wears Christmas sweaters on Halloween, and occasionally leaves people scratching their heads. He is truly special. Max has a passion for books, animals, gaming, music, and a genuine love for pizza! At times, he feels sad about his younger sibling getting the attention, his dad not being part of his life, and not liking his mom's boyfriend, yet he always tries to make the best of every situation. When he enters school in the mornings with his hoodie pulled over his head, he's probably dealing with something that he doesn't like. Usually, all it takes is a kind word and some appreciation to bring him back to a better state.
Max truly values feeling included and important, and will be looking for that as he transitions to middle school. Having a new zipper binder, just like his friends, would boost his confidence and help him feel successful and like he truly belongs. Starting middle school is a big step, and embracing it with self-assurance is a key part of the journey!
