Taylor is a strong young mom trying to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship. While she was pregnant, she survived a horrific stabbing attack and thankfully both she and her baby made it through. Her abuser is now in prison, but Taylor still faces the lasting effects of trauma, including PTSD, anxiety, trouble sleeping, and panic attacks. Despite all this, she’s committed to healing, attending therapy sessions whenever she can, and finding small joys in music, movies, video games, and, above all, time with her son.

Taylor is eagerly anticipating a day out with her son at a public water park this Memorial Day. She plans to rent a spot at a park that features a lovely lake, providing the perfect backdrop for her son to swim and have fun with a few of his close friends. He adores swimming, and after all the challenges they’ve faced together, it’s been far too long since he had the chance to simply enjoy being a kid. With his birthday just around the corner next month, this day filled with laughter and joy is exactly what both Taylor and her son need to recharge and strengthen their bond. To top off the day, an intimate barbecue to celebrate Memorial Day, complete with delicious meats to grill and share with a small group of friends, would truly mean the world to her. It’s an opportunity for them to savor their time together and create lasting memories that they will cherish for years to come.
