A throw blanket for Brie to use to unwind while watching a good show

Brie, 24 years old, CA

Kamalii Foster Family Agency

Brie is a kind and empathetic young woman whose life has been shaped by both hardship and hope. After losing her grandmother, Brie entered the foster care system, feeling lost. However, she has grown into a resilient individual through her faith and love of the arts. Now that she has aged out of foster care, she is excited to pursue a college degree in the performing arts, especially opera and musical theatre. Her ultimate dream is to become a therapist for young children, creating a safe space for those who have experienced trauma. In her free time, Brie enjoys singing worship music and reading her Bible, finding inspiration in her faith as she continues to grow.

Brie would love to have a throw blanket to use after long nights when she’s studying, after a long day at school, or finally unwinding with a good show. This blanket would offer more than warmth. It would be a reminder that her how is her own space that she gets to decide what fills it, what comforts her, and what makes it feel like home. It’s not a necessity, but it’s deeply meaningful. A soft layer of warmth on chilly nights, a quiet symbol of stability, and a gentle reward for how far she’s come.
