Daisy was once a vibrant and active young person who enjoyed spending time with friends, going to school, and taking part in everyday activities that made her happy. Her life changed suddenly after she became very ill and was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy. She does not fully understand her diagnosis, but she knows she is very sick, and that has been very hard for her and her family. Since then, Daisy has experienced a major change in her abilities and now needs full-time help with even her basic daily needs. The loss of her independence has been very difficult for everyone who cares about her. Her caregivers have shown constant love and dedication. Her mother had to stop working to care for her full-time, which has created financial strain for the family. Daisy is currently enrolled in a clinical trial in Texas in hopes of improving her condition, which requires frequent travel and ongoing out-of-pocket costs that continue to be a challenge.

Over the past year, Daisy’s life has changed a lot after her epilepsy diagnosis and the regression that followed, which now requires full-time care. She used to enjoy typical teenage activities, but now she spends most of her time indoors and has limited chances to go outside. Even with these challenges, she has one meaningful wish: to have a safe and comfortable outdoor space in her yard where she can sit, enjoy fresh air, and do gentle movement and physical therapy to help her regain strength. An adult swing designed with her needs in mind would give her a safe way to move, support her therapy goals, and help her slowly work toward more independence. Being outdoors would also help her emotionally by giving her peace, comfort, and a sense of normal everyday life. This space would not only support her healing, but also create special moments for her and her family during a very difficult time.
