Court has been in state custody since 2017 due to severe neglect and concerns related to parental mental health and substance abuse. Her brother was adopted and now lives out of state, and she has only limited contact with him. Court has experienced many moves, with 24 placement changes, and is currently adjusting to a new foster home. She does not have strong ongoing family connections, but she continues to hope for a permanent “forever home.” She is energetic, engaging, funny, and adventurous. She enjoys going for rides, decorating and designing her clothes, and being around other people.

Court really enjoys her cooking classes. She is learning how to prepare simple, affordable meals, and this experience has helped build her confidence, self-esteem, and independent living skills. An apron would help her feel more official while cooking and add to her sense of pride and accomplishment in what she is learning.
