Voices for Children - RiversideMona was removed from her home after abuse was reported to her school nurse. Her mother was aware of the abuse in the home and did not protect her. Since being removed, Mona has grown a lot. She has stepped into the role of a mother and is doing her best to care for her son. While she was once afraid of becoming a parent and handling things on her own, she is working hard to adjust and meet her child’s needs. She is also continuing to pursue her high school education. Mona previously struggled with her behavior, but she has recently been focusing on herself, doing better in school, and making positive progress.
Mona is working hard to complete high school while adjusting to life as a single teenage mother with limited support. She is currently unable to afford a car seat for her child and often has to share one with someone else in the home, which limits her ability to travel. Mona relies on the bus to get to school, the grocery store, and to pick up essential items. Having her own car seat would give her much more freedom and flexibility to meet her child’s needs and manage daily responsibilities more independently.
