Kyra has a long history with the Department of Children and Youth. She was previously removed from her home and separated from her siblings, who were later adopted. Kyra has recently been removed again due to concerns involving substance use, lack of supervision, and neglect. She is now placed in a kinship home with the family who adopted her siblings. Kyra is an outgoing, honest, and happy girl with a bright future ahead of her.

Kyra dreams of owning her own bike! She remembers how her dad always wanted to provide one for her but couldn’t. During this challenging time apart from him, having a bicycle would bring her so much joy, freedom, and a sense of connection to those special memories with her dad. A bike would give Kyra the chance to get outside, explore, and simply enjoy being a kid. It would mean so much to her to have something of her very own that she can ride with pride and excitement every day.
