Fostering KindnessJordan is a resilient young man who entered foster care at the age of 8, separated from his 10 older siblings due to trauma and abuse. Currently in a behavioral health unit, where he spends all of his time, he has been working hard to manage his CPTSD, and has made incredible progress.
Jordan has spent the past two years living in a behavioral health facility, where he attends school on-site and participates in therapy five days a week. During this time, he has worked incredibly hard, made tremendous progress in treatment, and recently earned an exciting privilege: having a video game console in his room. As Jordan approaches his 14th birthday, his greatest wish is a PlayStation 5. While many kids see a gaming system as entertainment, for Jordan, it represents something far more meaningful: connection, family, and belonging. Jordan is one of 11 siblings, ranging in age from 14 to 24, and with all 10 of his siblings living in different cities and states, online gaming is the only way they can all spend time together at once. Having a PS5 would allow Jordan to reconnect with his siblings, strengthen those important family bonds, and enjoy the simple joy of being a kid. After spending all of his time within the walls of the facility, he is eager for an opportunity to "escape" into a world where he can laugh, compete, and make memories with the people he loves most. A PlayStation 5 would be truly life-changing for Jordan, providing years of entertainment, social connection, and emotional support while celebrating the incredible progress he has made and giving him a meaningful way to stay connected to his family.
