A ebike for Elliot to get back and forth to his new job
Elliot, 20 years old, MO
Wish submitted by:
MO DSS Children's Division - St. Francois CountyElliot is a bright and resilient young man who is currently in foster care. This is his second time in care. He lives in an independent living arrangement with his young daughter, whom he is raising on his own. As a child, Elliot was adopted, but after the passing of his adoptive mother, his adoptive father returned him to state custody. Despite experiencing significant loss and instability throughout his life, Elliot has remained determined to build a better future for himself and his daughter. Recently, Elliot's roommate moved out, leaving him responsible for all household expenses on his own. He also faces transportation challenges, as he does not have a driver's license or a vehicle, making it difficult to get to work. His support system is small and consists mainly of his caseworker and a few close friends. Elliot has overcome tremendous obstacles and continues to work hard every day to provide for his daughter. He is a devoted father who is doing an amazing job raising her without family support. His focus is on creating a stable and successful future for both of them. While parenting and work take up most of his time now, Elliot previously enjoyed sports, especially track and baseball. He is a hardworking, caring young man whose perseverance and dedication are evident in everything he does.
Elliot is a single father in foster care who works incredibly hard to provide for and care for his daughter. Everyone who knows him can see how much he loves his little girl and the pride he takes in being the best parent he can be. He is dedicated, responsible, and always puts his daughter’s needs first. Recently, Elliot was excited to secure a full-time job, an important step toward building a stable future for his family. However, he does not yet have a driver's license and currently walks approximately four miles each way to and from work every day. After a long shift, the hour-long walk home can be exhausting. An e-bike would make a tremendous difference in Elliot’s daily life. It would provide reliable transportation, reduce the time and energy spent commuting, and help him get to and from work more efficiently. Most importantly, it would give him more time to spend with his daughter and less time spent walking. This support would help ease a significant challenge while allowing Elliot to continue focusing on providing a stable and loving home for his child.
