A tablet for Bonnie to use during downtime in the group home

Bonnie, 15 years old, TX

Gateway of Hope

Bonnie is a sweet girl who lives in a residential foster care group home. She came into care alongside her sister, and while her sister is moving toward adoption, Bonnie continues to cherish their visits and hopes to one day find a foster family of her own. Bonnie enjoys spending time outdoors exploring and staying active, but she also appreciates quiet moments indoors where she can relax and recharge. She has a kind heart, enjoys connecting with others, and is always willing to participate in new experiences. As she continues her journey, Bonnie is learning to stay hopeful about the future while building positive memories and relationships along the way.

Bonnie is wishing for a tablet of her own to use during approved electronics time. Having access to a tablet would give her a positive way to relax after a busy day, explore her interests, watch videos, listen to music, and access age-appropriate educational content. As a teen living in a residential foster care setting, opportunities for normal everyday experiences are especially meaningful. A tablet would provide Bonnie with a healthy outlet during downtime and give her another way to learn, explore, and enjoy activities that many teens her age take for granted.
