Breast pump for Sierra who is building the stability she never had
Sierra, 20 years old, OR
Wish submitted by:
The Lost & Found InstituteSierra entered foster care at just 10 years old after her mother passed away, a loss that changed the course of her childhood overnight. She moved between placements, carrying grief, confusion, and the pressure to grow up faster than most kids her age. Over time, she learned how to adapt to new homes, new schools, and new rules. However, what she wanted most was consistency and someone she could count on. These experiences shaped her into a person who is deeply protective of the people she loves and determined to create the kind of stability she didn’t always have. Today, Sierra is a devoted single mother who structures her life around ensuring her children feel safe, supported, and cared for. She works hard to provide financially while also being emotionally present for her kids. In the midst of parenting and working, Sierra attends college part-time, studying business management. She chose this path intentionally because she wants long-term security, the opportunity to advance in her career, and eventually the chance to own and run her own business. School isn’t easy with long shifts and parenting responsibilities, but she perseveres through late nights and early mornings because she knows that education can open doors she once couldn’t see.
The breast pump Sierra received through insurance hasn't worked well for her needs, making it hard to keep up with pumping as she returns to work after having her baby. A reliable, easy-to-use pump would help her keep feeding her baby the way she wants while balancing everything else on her plate.
