Foster Alumni MentorsAvery is an amazing young woman who has aged out of foster care and is known for her sweet and gentle disposition. She is a hard worker and has found meaningful employment in a role she truly enjoys, working with both animals and plants. Avery loves being outdoors, is an avid swimmer, and is always eager to help and support others around her. Avery (formerly known as Athena and in the process of updating her name) has graduated from high school and is focused on building a stable, healthy, and fulfilling life. She is described as helpful, kind, and safe, with a strong desire to continue growing in independence. Her current goals include being successful in her host home, building and maintaining healthy friendships, and developing a consistent daily routine. She is also working toward improving her sleep habits by reducing phone use at night and going to bed on time consistently for at least two weeks.
Avery has been working incredibly hard at her job and is truly thriving. As she continues to grow in her independence, she has set a new personal goal: to learn how to save money and build healthy financial habits. While she is determined to succeed, saving money has been challenging, and she recognizes that impulsive spending can sometimes hinder her progress. A locking money bag would provide Avery with a practical and empowering tool to support her journey. By allowing her host parents to safely hold onto her savings, the bag creates both security and accountability. It protects her money from being easily accessed by others while also adding a barrier that encourages her to pause before making impulsive purchases. This would be a meaningful resource that helps Avery practice self-discipline, develop long-term financial skills, and build confidence in her ability to achieve her goals.
