Sensory bin supplies for Mia to add to her coping skill corner

Mia, 9 years old, ME

Wish submitted by:

Woodfords Family Services

Mia is the oldest sister and lives with her younger sister in care. She takes good care of her sister and makes sure her needs are met. Mia loves to swim, jump on the trampoline, and create art. She has developed some impressive skills for her age, like making a sandwich and cooking eggs with supervision. She can also do simple chores such as cleaning her bedroom and vacuuming. Mia is new to her foster home and community, and she is excited to explore the area for fun activities and friends.

Mia is excited about the opportunity to create several sensory bins to use during her downtime this summer. By choosing the materials and building the bins herself, she will experience a strong sense of pride, ownership, and accomplishment. Sensory bins are among her favorite activities, providing a calming and engaging outlet when she needs quiet time or personal space. Having a variety of sensory bins available throughout the summer will give her a meaningful way to relax, regulate her emotions, and stay engaged in an activity she truly enjoys.
