Kamalii Foster Family AgencyMatthew has lived in various foster homes and group homes throughout his life. He is a deep thinker who prefers to spend time alone, listening to music and reflecting on the meaning of the lyrics to his favorite songs. Recently, he has developed an interest in gardening and plans to purchase a few small tomato and strawberry plants to explore this new hobby. Although Matthew is shy, he has decided to pursue an education in welding and hopes to complete a trade school program that will enable him to find full-time employment in this field. Matthew is respectful and independent, with a strong desire to achieve the goals he sets for himself, regardless of how challenging the journey may be.
As Matthew gets ready to move out of the THP program and into his own apartment, he can’t help but feel excited about this new chapter in his life. Like many young adults leaving foster care, he’s starting with very few belongings. Having a television would mean so much more than just a way to watch shows; it would help him turn his apartment into a cozy home. After facing many challenges in foster care, Matthew has worked really hard to achieve stability and independence. A TV would give him a chance to relax after a long day, keep up with the news, and create a comfortable space that supports his mental and emotional well-being. This gift would not only lighten the burden of furnishing his first home but also remind him that his community is still there for him as he takes this important step toward a bright and independent future.
