Mark aged out of foster care and has faced setback after setback, from unstable housing to identity theft, all while staying laser-focused on being a good father. In his free time he reads sci-fi, follows baseball and football, and collects sports cards — but his daughter is what keeps him going.

Mark's daughter was invited by a therapy-group friend to a birthday party at a farm, and she's never been to one before. Her excitement was contagious, and Mark would love to make this happen for her, a beautiful new experience and a memory they'll both hold onto.
