Skyla is shy at first but has a lot going on beneath the surface as she learns to communicate in a world that works differently for her. She loves Cocomelon in sign language, adores princesses, and is adjusting to a new placement away from her parents.

Skyla gets excited every time she visits therapy and gets to play with their makeup table, pretending to put on makeup. Having one of her own for her upcoming birthday would let her enjoy that same joyful pretend play any time she wants.
