Sara is an incredible young girl, smart and resilient. Currently, she and her older brother are staying with a family friend while their father and stepmother are being detained. Tragically, Sara's biological mother passed away from complications related to COVID-19 and infections when Sara was just a baby, leaving a lingering void in her life. Life has been challenging for her guardians, coming from Venezuela, as they strive to find stable work and housing to provide for both Sara and her brother. Sara and her brother have felt a deep sadness, missing their family. Like any girl her age, Sara enjoys the simple pleasures of life: playing with her dolls, watching YouTube, dancing, and indulging in arts and crafts, as well as enjoying video games. Her favorite color, purple, reflects her vibrant spirit. Despite the challenges she faces, Sara embodies hope and strength, reminding us all of the power of resilience and the importance of community support

Lately, Sara has been struggling with depression while separated from her parents, and she is counting down the days until they can be reunited. Because she is navigating circumstances entirely out of her control, it is especially important to keep her busy and engaged while she is out of school to support her mental well-being.
