Kenya has been in foster care for years and has lived in the same foster home throughout this time. Despite facing significant challenges related to her biological family relationships, trauma, and the typical hurdles of growing up, she has thrived both academically and socially. Kenya works part-time after school and is currently in nursing school.

Despite all of the trauma Kenya has experienced, she has flourished academically and socially, constantly reminding herself of her goal to become a nurse. Kenya is entering her second year of nursing school and starting some clinical labs. During clinical labs, Kenya will get to practice hands-on learning experiences. It's a requirement of her program to have a specific stethoscope, which she is currently unable to purchase. For Kenya, receiving this stethoscope will remind her that others are cheering her on in her dream of becoming a nurse, a profession she wants to pursue to help others. This stethoscope also comes in a fun pink color, which lets Kenya express a bit of her personality during clinicals!
